Our History
1936
Our story begins in 1936, when a group of Atlantic Coast Line Railroad employees formed Coastline Federal Credit Union in Wilmington, N. C. The charter for the credit union was granted on March 6, 1936, and the Wilmington A.C.L. Employees Federal Credit Union was established. By year end, the credit union had 139 members and assets of $753.
1936
1960
In 1960, the credit union moved to Jacksonville, Fla., with the relocation of the railroad's headquarters and changed its name to SCL General Office Employees Federal Credit Union. At that time, year-end assets were more than $838,000 and membership totaled 1,345.
1960
1986
In 1986, we took on the name that we proudly use today, Coastline Federal Credit Union, uniting employees of the railroad industry as well as more than 250 select employee groups throughout the state of Florida.

2003
In 2003, the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration) approved a charter conversion to a Federal Community Charter. This new charter designation allows any person who lives, works, worships or attends school in Duval County to be eligible for membership at Coastline Federal CU.
2003
2006
In 2006, the NCUA approved a charter expansion to include four counties that surround Duval County. Today, any person who lives, works, worships or attends school in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau or St. Johns counties is eligible to become a member of Coastline Federal CU.
